Job Summary

Prova Inc., a global flavor and extract manufacturing company, is seeking a technically oriented intern to assist our Senior Flavorist to support flavor creation efforts. This role will provide vital support to the company’s Flavorist and Applications teams.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

– Organize and maintain laboratory inventory of raw materials, ensuring all are stored in correct locations and maintained within their proper shelf life

– Prepare flavors for evaluation, following formulas developed by the Flavorist

– Partake in flavor evaluations & sensory testing

– Assist with weighing, dosing and blending raw materials for flavor creation

– Maintain database of customer responses and statistical analysis reports

– Support research for procurement and or development of flavors

– Maintain all required formula records and brief documentation in company database software

– Maintain an organized collection of flavors in the lab for immediate response to briefs and applications requests

– Assist in applying flavors to food products when assigned

– Maintain a clean and orderly laboratory environment in accordance with policies and good laboratory practices

Must Haves:

– Pursuing or recently completed bachelor’s degree in science (chemistry, chemical engineering, life sciences or food engineering/technology)

– Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office

– Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively

– Sensory evaluation and analysis skills

– Good laboratory practice skills – especially accurate weighing

– Excellent oral and written communication skills

– Accuracy and attention to detail and proven analytical skills

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 per week
