2024 Nestlé R&D Sensory Internship
Position Summary
The R&D Sensory Intern will collaborate with and function as part of the Sensory and Product Experience team to support and/or lead appropriate testing including the design, planning, set-up, execution, analysis, and reporting. Assist with the design and implementation of various types of descriptive, discimination, cuttings and technical tastings, and shelf-life studies. Support the documentation and development of protocols for sensory tools and methods. Work on independent research projects. Complete literature searches and summarize key learnings. The Internship will be six months in duration. Preferred start date of June/July 2024, with flexibility on the start date.
Requirements & Preferred Skills
Education
- M.S. or Ph.D. students in Food Science: must have at least core sensory curriculum completed. Previous experience in a sensory internship is a benefit, but not required.
- Completion of degree by 2026, 2025 or 2024 preferred,
- GPA: Minimum 3.0
Skills and Knowledge
- Organizational and time-management skills
- Writing, presentation, and general communication skills
- Proactive cooperation, results focus, courage, initiative, continuous learning and curiosity
- Attention to detail, a high level of organization, and ability to follow SOPs
- Ability to consider and apply appropriate principles of sensory science in practice
