Dairy Farmers of America Inc. is a national milk cooperative owned by the family farmers that we passionately serve. The 18,000+ employees of DFA work together to market and sell our members’ milk and related products (such as yogurt, cheese, butter, and ice cream) to wholesale buyers both domestically and abroad.
DFA has a summer internship opportunity at the Oak Farms facility in San Antonio, Texas for a college student classified as a junior or senior as of the fall term of 2023. As a DFA Intern, you will earn more than just school credit; you will gain real business experience, professional connections, and a paycheck. Our Internship program is structured so that you will work in a variety of settings, including a manufacturing plant and a working lab as well as an office.
Your will gain hands-on experience in areas such as Quality Control, Raw Receiving, HTST Operations and Filler Operations. You will also experience general business management functions that contribute to the overall success of our San Antonio operation.
The ideal candidate will have an interest in Manufacturing, Operations or Quality. Our goal is for the student selected to gain real knowledge and experience that aids in their educational development and shapes their future career decisions.
Primary Internship Duties/Responsibilities:
* Quality Control * Raw Receiving * HTST Operations * Filler Operations * Blowmolding * Daily reconciliation – Market Administrator / DFA milk receipts
The qualified candidate will be a junior or senior in the fall of 2023, with a degree focus in Food Science, Food Technology, Manufacturing or related field.
